Someone asked how is One Piece? Well i really liked the idea of a pirate story. So I started reading it. I was a little bit upset though there is not very much adventuring. Each comic has a fight between some new bad guy and that is what happens EVERY comic. It became boring after awhile I was hoping for a more adventurous comic. Still good though you should try it.

I like reading the translated scans of One Piece cus i've found out that the western releases are all toned down and sanitized! Grrr! Same goes for the Anime.

Yea anything "cartoon based" has to be G rated. I hate that! Thats why they are such a big hit in Japan they offer mangas for everyone and all ages.

I can remember when I was about 9-10 I saw a bootleg video of Akira from Japan with English dub. I couldn't believe how awesome it was. Blood, violence, Nothing G rated about it. I had never seen a "Cartoon" that was so cool.

Just goes to show you how two cultures can be so different in views.

Japan takes manga to the limits Lolicon is still legal in Japan.

I did the same thing with akira! I found a tape with "The Fly" on it and wacked it in, I got a subbed version of Akira instead. I had no idea what was going on but that was probably the first contact I had with Japanese culture. My brother swapped me down to Lum and Gundam.

I know Loli is quite bad to be fair but then over there the legal age for sex is 13.

I'm reading One Piece in the american (I think) Shonen Jump and I'm enjoying it. I agree more adventure would be nice but the characters are very original. I just love Luffy.
