Has any one tried an outdoor onsen in the winter?
The onsen across the street from my house I frequent has both indoor and outdoor.
Its great! I like to go when its snowing, or during blizzard conditions! Haha :fingers_crossed:

Have you read that recently lots of Onsen (the fee charging ones) have been investigated as they were found to be nothing but warm water and bath salts.

Apparently "under the 1948 Hot Spring Law, anyone who can harness a water source with a temperature of 25 degree Celsius or above can set up an onsen, no matter what the mineral content of the water."

I am absolutely positively sure that this happens all over Japan. In any city there are sooo many "Onsen" I figured they weren't actual onsen anyhow. But a hot bath is still cool with me since they don't have Jacuzzis here :shameful_cry:

Meh I'm a shower person anyway, water is something I can't abide in large quantities
