EBM, Synthpop, Industrial, Darkwave 5 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello,

I want to know if there is any sort of scene in Japan for EBM, Synthpop, Industrial, or Darkwave music. If so, what are some of the names of clubs, bands, and festivals or events in those genres?

I'd like to connect with Japanese people interested or involved in that style of music.

Thanks!

The first band that comes to my head is Aural Vampire(????) they are kinda synthpoppy... I know OF other bands, but I'd need to go find them. Another band I can think of is The Mad Capsule Markets, I used to adore them, but they kinda died out.. I can upload some A-V albums if you'd like ^^

MCM are more "Dance Metal" I guess. I have all their main albums but missing some bootlegs and singles. Its hard to quantify their style, some call it Metal others Electronica others Punk-Metal...the terms go on.

I don't really know any Industrial, Synthpop or Darkwave stuff but I guess at a HUGE push you could class m1dy and KILLINGSCUM as EBM. But thats at a real push. They both kick ass though :icon_mrgreen:

There's actually quite a large scene for the genre~? It is (unfortunately) not half as popular as the visual and/or oshare scenes seem to be.

Some bands/artists I would reccommend are:

Schwarz Stein *
VELVET EDEN *
Aural Vampire
Kaya
Hora
2 BULLET
Bespa Kumamero
Pride Of Mind *
Guniw Tools *
Despair
BAAL
-qiche-
D'AIR *

* disbanded

A good synthpop/synthrock band is Polysics. They're japanese so you might want to look at them.
