Could be ....if the subject is taught entirely in English. :icon_mrgreen:

You can assess your readiness : Pick up a Japanese textbook for high school students and read it. If you can understand it you're good to go.

JLPT 4 may help you get into a Japanese university if it is a multilingual university.

JLPT4 isn't that hard, only about a hundred Kanji and 800 vocab, and isn't extremely impressive as almost 3/4th of the people who test for it pass the test (I'm not belittling it though, it is a great accomplishment). If you want to be a serious canidate to a serious Japanese college you will need to get JLPT2 at least.

So keep up the awesome work! If you want to get into Edinburgh bad enough, you will!

Actually most of the course is in English as I will be learning about the history of Japan and China, and how the language works. You don't need to know a single word of Japanese prior to entering the course, but I don't meet any of the course requirements so I was hoping to get in through JLPT tests. Thanks for the replies anyway guys. I kept phoning the uni and it keeps rining out, useless! Its the only Uni in Scotland to offer a full time course in Japanese
