try listening to Seikima II... they were cool dudes! Tha old school japanese heavy metal! Tha j-metal, hehe..

Well, depending on your taste of music, if you aren't into the screamo/metal hardcore JROCK, then I suggest, alice nine., SID, SuG, ayabie, MUCC, the GazettE, D'espairsRay, Kagrra, Kra, Miyavi, Cellt, Wizard, 12012, heidi. and so on!! :D Those are some awesome bands!!
MUCC used to be very dark in their music, but it seems like they lightened up! xDD
