1. Identifying Objects

日本語 英語
例: これ 本田さん かばん です。 This is Mr. Hondas bag.

In lesson 2 we learned "Noun の Noun"( 本田のかばん). Now we will add on to these using the following こ,、それ, あれ.

This will create the statements. "This is someone's something."

Remember:

これ = This

それ = That

あれ = That over there

Use these inserts to create a sentence.

1 .これ, 川口さん, カメラ
2. あれ, 山田さん, いす
3. それ, ジェイソン, くるま
4. これ, サラ, 自転車
5. それ, ジュン, 友達

例) それ, ジョン, 本

それジョンです。

That is John's book.

Mr. Honda is not a university student. I am a university student too.

My name is Jason. Mine too.

Grammar Notes:

When someone makes a statement about them self, you can substitute the particle "" for "" to state that you also have that in common. "も" represents the English "also" or "too."

Note: This can be used in both positive and negative statements.

Try answer to these statements. Indicating that you also have that in common:

私はカナダ人です。

ジョンさんは大学生です。

私は日本人じゃない。
